1. Disaster Alert is a free smartphone app that gives people, families, and their loved ones the information they need to be safe anywhere in the world. Disaster AlertTM, built on PDC's DisasterAWARE® platform, provides near real-time information on 18 distinct types of hazardous disasters as they unfold throughout the world.
Disaster Alert allows you to configure early warning alerts, see situational analysis reports, and access modeled hazard consequences for selected hazards all from a single, simple map interface. The constant flow of new information in Disaster Alert is derived automatically from only scientifically validated sources. Alerts are updated when no authoritative source is available.
2. Natural Disaster Monitor (Android only): Natural disasters across the world may be tracked using the Global Disaster Alert and Coordination System - www.gdacs.org. The app displays the most recent natural catastrophes, such as earthquakes, droughts, volcanic eruptions, tropical cyclones, tsunamis, and floods, as color coded symbols in a list and on a Google Maps background; the icon colors represent the alert level - green, orange, and red. The symbol will become more translucent as the event gets older. By clicking on the item, you will be sent to a page with additional information about the tragedy. The map can alternatively display UTM or geographic grids.
3. The First Aid: American Red Cross apps provides essential, life-saving ideas and instructions to help you and others survive ordinary crises and natural catastrophes such as hurricanes, earthquakes, and tornadoes.
